Terms & Conditions

Please read the following Terms and Conditions carefully.  By electing to enroll in our Paperless option, you agree to be bound by them.  If you do not agree with any of these Terms and Conditions, do not enroll in the Paperless option.  These communications may include customer agreements, disclosures, policy related documents, billing statements, notices and other documents or information. You should print or download for your records a copy of all electronic communications, this agreement, and any other document that is important to you.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time.  Continued participation in the Paperless option will constitute your acceptance of any revisions to the Terms and Conditions.  If you have entered or enter into a separate agreement with Avemco for services to be processed through electronic communication, the terms and conditions of this agreement do not alter the terms and conditions of that separate agreement.


Scope of Consent

Your consent will authorize Avemco to stop providing paper communications.  We are required by law to give you certain information “in writing”, which means you are entitled to communications on paper.  We may provide this information to you electronically, instead, with your prior consent.   There may be some documents that we cannot deliver electronically due to legal and technological constraints in your state.  These documents will be delivered to you via USPS to your postal address. We may also provide certain communications in paper format if we believe it is necessary.  Some documents are not currently available for electronic delivery.  If those documents become available in an electronic format, we may deliver those documents electronically, according to your paperless preference. 

Avemco may terminate this agreement at any time.  In the event you purchase new policies or open new accounts, or if additional policies and/or accounts offer electronic communication capabilities in the future, you authorize Avemco to apply your current electronic communications preferences at that time to those policies and/or accounts.  You may change your electronic communication preferences at any time.


Hardware and Software Requirements

Hardware Requirements:  You will need access to the Internet, a valid email account and a printer if you want to keep your own paper records.

Software Requirements:  You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader version 4.0 or greater to view Paperless documents.

Should we make changes to the hardware or software requirements for the Paperless option such that you may no longer be capable of accessing or retaining your electronic insurance documents, we will inform you of the revised hardware and software requirements.  You will then need to review the new requirements and indicate your consent to continue participating in the Paperless option according to the new requirements.


Electronic Communication Methods

Avemco will either send electronic communications directly to you as an email attachment at the email address you provide us, or we will send an email that gives you access to a web site where you may access communications when they become available.  Once you enroll in the Paperless option, it is your responsibility to inform us of any changes to your email address. It is also your responsibility to keep your email address active and capable of receiving new emails.  To do this, ensure that your email account has sufficient space for new emails and that your email server and spam-blocking software do not block our emails.  If an email is returned as undelivered, we may mail the communication in paper format using the postal address of record.  We are not responsible for problems arising from emails sent to an inactive or out-of-date email address, unless we are solely negligent for using an incorrect address. 


When Messages are Received

Electronic communications sent to you by Avemco are considered “received” by you as soon as they are transmitted by Avemco to the most recent email address you provide us – not just after you open or read the communication.  Electronic communications may not be delivered due to a problem with the email address.  These will not be considered late or delayed if they would have been received by your email account without those limitations.


Withdrawal of Consent

Your consent will remain in effect throughout your relationship with Avemco until that consent is withdrawn.  You may withdraw your consent to receive electronic communications by calling Avemco at 1-800-638-8440 or emailing [email protected].  Withdrawing your consent to receive electronic communications will not apply to any other separate agreement you have with Avemco.  Withdrawing your consent will change your preferences with respect to all Avemco policies and accounts that are subject to this agreement. Your withdrawal will be effective only after we have a reasonable amount of time to process it.  Avemco may at any time decide to stop sending communications electronically, but before we do, we’ll let you know by sending you an email at the email address you provided.


Request Paper Copies

You may print, save, or make a copy of any electronic communications we send to you.  You may also request paper copies of your documents, free of charge, at any time by calling Avemco at 1-800-638-8440 or emailing [email protected].  The paper copy will be mailed to your postal address via USPS.



In accordance with our Notice of Privacy Policy, we won’t sell your email address to third parties.  We may share your email address with third parties that are under contract with Avemco to provide certain services.  These third parties are not allowed to use your email address for their own marketing purposes or to sell it to anyone else.


Additional Terms

Avemco is not liable for any damages that arise out of transmitting information under this agreement.  If you do not agree to all of the following, do not complete the form below.

  • I acknowledge that I have read this agreement and consent to receiving electronic communications from Avemco for the email address I have on file with Avemco.
  • I understand that I will no longer receive paper communications through postal mail where electronic communications are available, except for certain notices where paper communications are required by law. I understand that I may also request a paper copy as described above.
  • I understand that my consent is valid until it is withdrawn, as described above.
  • I understand that it is my responsibility to update my email address with Avemco as described above.
  • I can meet the system requirements described above.
  • I understand that by clicking “I Agree”, I am electronically signing this document and providing evidence of my consent to receive electronic communications from Avemco.
