WHAT A YEAR!

December 2021

2021 has been Avemco Insurance Company’s 60th anniversary. That’s an accomplishment few other insurance companies can match and we wanted to show our pride. As the year comes to a close, we’d like to share some of the highlights of these past 12 months.

Let’s start with AirVenture. We were as excited to be back in Oshkosh as everyone else after a year’s absence. More than 600,000 people gave EAA one of its biggest years yet. We did our part, with one of our largest contingents of Avemco team members and an expanded booth layout to better serve you. Hats off to our underwriters and other Avemco specialists and, of course, to the hundreds of visitors who made it to our booth and went home with some special gifts, including a souvenir photo of their visit that proclaimed, ‘I Made it To AirVenture 2021!

They also had a chance to meet and chat with the stars of the two podcasts that Avemco began sponsoring as part of our anniversary celebration: Greg Feith and John Goglia of The Flight Safety Detectives and Rob Reider from I Learned About Flying from That. Visitors to the booth topped off the week by spending time with the 2019 National CFI of the Year, Gary (Guy in the Pink Shirt) Reeves, and received a signed copy of his book.

The other major Avemco initiative at AirVenture was our first-ever “Women Moving the Needle Day” with well-known speakers from several aviation organizations and businesses.

As more and more air shows began returning, we continued meeting with our friends at events such as the Aviation Showcases, as well as the popular Zenith Manufacturing Open House Days.

2021 saw many Safety Rewards initiatives from Avemco to thank our customers and keep them safe and informed. We sponsored hundreds of earned FAASTeam Wings lapel pins for pilots who completed at least one phase of the Wings Pilot Proficiency Program. There were also opportunities to earn our insurance discounts through collaboration with the aforementioned WINGS, Gene Benson.com and Rich Stowell’s “Learn to Turn” and others.

We continued to publish our monthly Avemco PIREPs and quarterly newsletters with added recognition of four individuals that have made a difference in aviation. You most likely know many more in your pilot community and we would love to hear about them.

To make sure we continue to improve our service, Avemco introduced the use of “Trustpilot” as a method of receiving immediate feedback from our customers. We could not be prouder of the more than 1,600 reviews we have received so far, earning us an Excellent Five Star Rating. But we can still do better and we know it. Please submit your review of Avemco on Trustpilot and let us know how we can serve you better.

Where do we go for the next 60 years?  Well, we will continue to improve our client services, and encourage you to become a safer pilot through aviation training, education, and best practices in the air and on the ground.

Thank you, Avemco customers. See you ‘round the pattern in 2022.
