Avemco® Announces Favored Rates for Select SLSAs

Frederick, MD - Avemco Insurance Company has recognized 13 special light-sport aircraft (SLSA) to offer its most favorable SLSA rates effective April 15, 2009.

In addition to a better-than-average safety record for the select SLSAs, Avemco cites development in the light-sport aircraft (LSA) marketplace in general as keys to this change. That development includes improved pilot checkout and training, an increase in qualified maintenance shops, and growing parts availability. All have improved underwriting results, earning them Avemco's most favorable rates.

"We've worked to keep our finger on the pulse of the LSA category since its inception, and we're pleased with its safety improvements," Avemco President Jim Lauerman said. "As the training and maintenance infrastructure continues to evolve, we hope that even more SLSAs earn these base rates."
