And because Avemco is a direct underwriter, a CFI who wants to instruct in his own aircraft can call us, name a qualified student pilot, purchase coverage, and be instructing that same day.

Key Policy Benefits

Conduct Flight Training in your own aircraft.

Avemco's policy pays for your legal defense, up to $5,000, if an FAA pilot certificate enforcement or civil penalty action is brought against you as a result of a covered accident or loss.

Up to 10% annual premium credit through Avemco's Safety Rewards Program.

Storage coverage available when aircraft stored or in for maintenance or service.

Rental of your aircraft to named pilots is permitted.

Medical expense coverage includes payment of $100 each day in hospital, up to policy limits, in addition to medical bills and includes policyholder.

Standard Policy Benefits

No coverage exclusion just because an annual, medical, or flight review accidentally expires midterm.

We insure pilots regardless of age who meet general underwriting requirements.

We give credits for "claim-free" experience.

No N# blocking.

We base total loss payment on the insured value, not a "Blue Book" or actual cash value.

A hull premium credit applies if your aircraft is kept in a hangar.

No family sub-limits.

Disappearing deductible for loss due to fire, lightning, explosion, or a total loss (in most cases).

If you've purchased in-flight hull coverage, we pay to retrieve your aircraft after an off-airport landing, even if your aircraft isn't damaged.

Built-in Non-Owned liability benefits include coverage for damage to non-owned aircraft to the extent of the hull coverage you purchase for your aircraft.

No separate deductible for gear up landings.

No restrictions on payment for Hail Damage.

When you add or replace aircraft, up to 30 days coverage is automatically provided, as long as the replacement aircraft meets the definition of "insured aircraft" in the policy.

$25,000 liability coverage is provided for damage to rented or leased hangars.

Avemco's policy includes "extended sales coverage" which provides Bodily Injury and Property Damage Liability for covered claims after you have sold the aircraft for up to one year after the date of sale, or the period that the aircraft was insured by Avemco, whichever is less. Very few, if any, other policies provide this protection.

We pay up to $1,000 for damage to passengers' personal effects.

Coverage for liability arising out of the use of the area you rent to park, tie-down or store your aircraft.

You can include your spouse as an approved named pilot at no additional charge on most aircraft.

Fleet discounts available if we insure more than one aircraft on the same policy.

Allow mid-term changes that can save premium.

No hidden hurricane damage deductibles.

Coverage on grass strips for most aircraft.

You can name up to 5 approved pilots on your policy.

Pays for runway foam preceding an emergency landing.

Avemco offers convenient payment plans and accepts major credit cards.

Policy has no "blanket" FAR exclusions.

Legal Defense after limits of policy tendered.

We do not subrogate against named insured pilots.
